Launch, Variants and Price
The 2018 facelifted model has been launched in India in the first half of with prices starting at around Rs. 12.5 lakhs. The Mahindra XUV500 price of the petrol variant starts at around Rs 15.5 lakhs. The company’s flagship SUV is available in five diesel variants, which include W5, W7, W9, W11 and W11(O) including both manual and automatic, while for the petrol, there is only one automatic (G AT) on offer.
The top-range diesel version model with all-wheel-drive automatic transmission option can be owned at a price of over Rs 19 lakhs.
The revised version of the Mahindra XUV500 comes packed with an upgraded 2.2-litre mHawk diesel motor, mated to a 6-speed manual. The Aisin-sourced automatic transmission option is also on the offer. The diesel version produces a maximum of 155 bhp power and a peak torque of 360 Nm.
A 2.2-litre mHawk petrol powertrain is also available. This motor is paired only with with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It offers around 140 bhp of maximum power and 320 Nm of peak torque.
The new 2018 Mahindra XUV500 has received has received a good amount of re-designing. The front fascia now bears a new aggressive-looking grille to portray a sportier look. New headlights and LED DRLs are other upgraded styling cues spotted at the front end. The rear end now has a new tail light design. The wheels are also given a re-design.
The refreshed Mahindra XUV500 welcomes car occupants with a more luxurious and sophisticated looking cabin. The cabin features excellent-quality soft-touch materials and a double-tone colour pattern. The piano black finishing touch on the centre console imparts a better look inside. It retains the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
A segment-first smartwatch-controlled telematics on this SUV completes the new addition list inside the cabin.
The safety quotient is kept at the desired level by incorporating features like ABS with EBD, six airbags, hill hold, ESP, rollover mitigation and hill descent control to name a few.
