But your favorite mechanic who runs the corner garage is not always going to be able to take care of all of the problems with your vehicle. Your local repair shop might be able to provide minor body work services such as dent repair, but most repair shops avoid doing any kind of major body work. In most cases, your repair shop will refer you to a body shop where you will be able to get your work done. However, it is interesting to note that almost every body shop can also do auto repair work as part of their services.
Some repair shops sell tires and other accessories, which means they would have no problem taking care of your tire issues for you. But if your shop does not sell tires, then there is a good chance that you will have to go somewhere else for your replacement tires. The odd thing is that your local shop might have no problem repairing a tire, even though the shop cannot actually sell you a new tire.
The way cars are manufactured is constantly changing and manufacturers are starting to make certain repairs dealer repairs only. This means that only a certified dealer can get the part and do the work for that repair. Your local shop can diagnose the problem for you and give you information on what you need done, but you will have to take your car to a local dealer to get the actual work done.
